Jack P. Garniewski, Jr.

Jack P. Garniewski, Jr., CPA/PFS, CFP®, AEP®, Principal

As a Principal, Jack leads seasoned professionals who are responsible for delivering advice and service to a national client base of multi-generational families and business owners. Jack works directly with clients to help manage the multi-dimensional aspects of their family's financial affairs.

Jack and his teams work closely with clients and their advisors to develop and support financial strategies that assist clients in meeting their current needs while planning for long-term goals. For some of his clients, this also means serving as executive director, business manager, advisor, and confidant, as well as developing intergenerational strategies customized to best meet their needs.

Jack has more than three decades of experience in providing advice and overseeing the execution of financially related solutions for wealthy families. This includes the strategic leadership and business management responsibilities associated with oversight of multiple family offices and other entities.

Jack holds an MBA in Taxation from Drexel University and earned his bachelor's degree from Villanova University. Jack is a Certified Public Accountant in Delaware and Pennsylvania. He serves as President of the Board of NAEPC (National Association of Estate Planners and Councils) and as a director on numerous family foundations. He is President of the Board of Directors of the Delaware Art Museum and serves on the Board of Directors for various professional and community committees.

He frequently speaks at Family Office and other related professional conferences locally and nationwide, including The National Association of Estate Planners and Councils, the Society of Financial Service Professionals, the Wilmington Tax Group, the Delaware Tax Institute, the Family Firm Institute, Attorneys for Family Held Enterprise, and the Connex International Strategic Investment Sector Meeting. Born and raised in New Castle, Delaware, Jack currently resides in Chester County, Pennsylvania.

Michele L. Ahwash

Michele L. Ahwash, CFP®, AEP®, CTFA, Principal 

Michele is a Principal of Family Office Solutions and participates in the overall management of the company. She also serves as the relationship manager for key client relationships. She has more than 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. 

Before joining Family Office Solutions, she was employed at Wilmington Trust Company as a Senior Relationship Manager, where she provided wealth management and advisory services for ultra-high net worth families. Prior to joining Wilmington Trust, Michele was employed at Tiedemann Trust Company for seven years, where she handled all aspects of relationship management and financial planning for ultra-high net worth clients. Prior to Tiedemann, Michele was employed at The Bryn Mawr Trust Company for eight years, where she managed all aspects of trust and estate administration and served as Chair of the Real Estate Committee. Before that, she worked at the Law Offices of Beatty Lincke in Media, Pennsylvania, for 16 years, where she was responsible for estate planning and administration, as well as fiduciary and individual income tax preparation.

Michele is a Certified Financial Planner™ professional, a Certified Trust and Financial Advisor, and an Accredited Estate Planner. She earned her Master's in Business Administration degree from Widener University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration (Management) from Widener University, graduating summa cum laude. She is a member of the Financial Planning Association, the Philadelphia Estate Planning Council, the Delaware Bankers Association, the National Association of Estate Planning Councils, and the Institute of Certified Bankers. Michele has written several articles that have been published in the Philadelphia Estate Planning Council Newsletter.

Michele serves as President of Humane Animal Partners. She also serves on a number of professional and community committees.

In her free time, Michele enjoys participating in sports of all kinds, especially bicycling. Born and raised in Wallingford, Pennsylvania, Michele currently resides in Chester County, Pennsylvania.

Michael E. Dunning

Michael E. Dunning, Accountant

Michael graduated from the University of Delaware with a degree in accounting in 2019. He is enrolled at Wilmington University and will receive has Master’s Degree in Accounting in 2022. He plans to pursue becoming a Certified Public Accountant after he has completed his Master’s Degree

Michael’s background includes experience in accounting, bookkeeping and income tax preparation for individuals and corporations

Michael volunteers as a basketball coach for St. Elizabeth grade school in his free time. He is also a huge Philadelphia sports fan and enjoys watching the Eagles, Phillies and Sixers play

Michael was born and raised in Delaware.

Ashley Pettis

Ashley Pettis, Executive Assistant

Ashley is the Executive Assistant for Family Office Solutions and participates in the overall administrative services for client relationships.

Before joining Family Office Solutions, she was employed at JPMorgan Chase in Newark, DE. Her background includes eight years of Compliance, Conduct, and Anti-money laundering for JPMorgan Chase as well as multiple years of experience in administration services within a local doctor’s office.

In her free time, Ashley enjoys spending quality time with her family & friends, loves outdoor activities, and singing karaoke. Ashley was born and raised in Wilmington, Delaware.

Barbara Butterworth

Barbara Butterworth, MBA – Office Manager

Barbara provides accounting services to Family Office Solutions and assists with the overall management of the company

Barbara has over 30 years of experience as the owner of her accounting business, serving nonprofit organizations and small to midsize for-profit companies.

Before starting her own business, Barbara began her career at Chase Manhattan Bank, First USA Bank and First Atlanta Bank working in their accounting departments.

Barbara earned a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Delaware and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Lawrence Technological University in Southfield, MI

In her free time Barbara likes to travel and spend time with her family and her chocolate lab named Buddy. She serves as Treasurer of her homeowner’s association. Born in Santiago, Chile, she currently resides in Wilmington, DE.

Jacqueline M. Ilvento

Jacqueline M. Ilvento, CPA, Contractor, Family Office Solutions, LLC    

Jacqueline M Ilvento, CPA, is a certified public accountant licensed in NJ & NY, with over 20 years of experience in income tax preparation and planning for individuals, businesses, investment partnerships, trusts, and estates.

After graduating from Monmouth University in 1994 with a degree in Accounting and Marketing, Jackie started her career at a local accounting firm in Monmouth County, NJ, preparing business and individual income tax returns.

Jackie then moved out of state and worked for six years at JPMorgan Private Bank in their Personal Trust Income Tax Department in Newark, Delaware, preparing fiduciary income tax returns and serving as a resource to their team on tax matters as well as the interpretation of trust instruments.

After moving back to New Jersey, she worked as a Tax Manager in the Alternative Investments group at PricewaterhouseCoopers in New York, where she prepared and reviewed tax returns for hedge fund and private equity fund clients.

Jackie enjoys spending time with family and friends and has a love for Key West, Florida.

Rebecca L. Nelson

Rebecca L. Nelson, CPA (inactive), Contractor  

Rebecca is a contractor with a strong background of more than 17 years in private equity accounting, investor reporting, and real estate asset management.

Rebecca supports the Family Office Solutions team in our financial reporting and tax practice areas. She brings a skill set that will allow us to effectively report to our clients in a streamlined and efficient manner. Along with supporting Family Office Solutions, she runs her real estate consulting firm, Colebrook Real Estate Advisors, and owns/manages some apartment buildings in the Philadelphia area. Before starting her own business, she was employed by LEM Capital (2003-2005, 2010-2015) and Graham Partners (2006-2009), two very prominent private equity firms in the greater Philadelphia region. She served as controller for these two firms, managing the financial reporting, loan servicing, investor reporting, and communications, as well as the quarterly valuation processes. In 2011, she was promoted to the Director of Asset Management at LEM Capital, where she oversaw the entire real estate investment portfolio that was ~10,000 units by the time of her departure in late 2015. This role required extensive knowledge of each apartment building, the market where the investment was located, and understanding expected performance to meet or exceed this expectation.

Rebecca is a Certified Public Accountant, which is inactive at this time due to the transition from an accounting focus in her career to an investment asset management focus. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration (Accounting) from Drexel University, graduating summa cum laude.

Rebecca, in her free time, serves as the primary home purchaser and designer of her husband’s house flipping business in York and Lancaster Counties and is very active with her family now that she is living closer to them.

Born and raised in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Rebecca currently resides in York, Pennsylvania.
